When the pirouette goes awry

There’s something comically tragic about watching a well-rehearsed pirouette turn into an awkward shuffle across the floor. I recently saw a student try to impress during a performance, and instead of a graceful finish, they ended up in a heap on the side of the stage. It’s moments like these that remind us to embrace the unpredictability of dance. Anyone else have similar stories?

I totally get that! I once had a performance where I tripped right after a supposed flawless pirouette. What I’ve learned is to always have a backup plan in mind, like a quick recovery move.
