Exploring emotion through movement

I’m currently developing a piece that dives deep into the complexity of grief, and I’m fascinated by how we can express intense emotions through modern dance. My goal is to incorporate unconventional rhythms and spatial dynamics — maybe even collaborating with visual artists to create an immersive experience. Has anyone experimented with this in their own choreography? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I’ve found that pairing unexpected soundscapes with specific movements can deepen the emotional impact — like using ambient sounds to highlight moments of stillness. Have you thought about what kind of visuals might align with your rhythms?
